ɹoɹɹıɯ

So I was derping around on the internet this morning, desperate for some inspiration because I kind of really wanted to make some pictures. I found myself looking up self portraits and photographers who do a lot of self portraiture and somehow ended up on a strange website reading this article. I completely misunderstood the title and got very very excited. I remembered a photograph I featured on my visual research tumblr a while back by photographer Kyle Thompson and my brain started whirring.

I can't for the life of me figure out how he's done this and he will not reveal his secrets. I thought I'd figured out a way how and so smashed a mirror (I figured my luck can't possibly get any worse) and desperately tried fxing little broken bits inside my camera.

I definitely nearly broke the shutter and let more dirt and dust in than ever before. It didn't even work and I got really angry. I then tried blu-tacking mirror fragments to the front of the lens but that didn't really work either.

I took a few self portraits but wasn't getting the effect I imagined at all and gave up. I may not have achieved what I wanted but it felt really good to be feeling in some way creative again. I really need to get some fucking models though, I'm sick of self portraits. This one is especially bleh and I look weird and my mouth is annoying and there's that little bit of fly-away hair and what am I doing with my shoulders where is my neck.. oh god.

I really do need models so if you're interested in collaborating with me/helping me out contact me here: cflyons@live.com
